As we reported, Trump didn’t grant clemency to Julian Assange or Edward Snowden. But Trump was still polling people close to him today about whether he should.

There would have been risks had he pardoned Assange and Snowden but he would have gained some major, loyal fans.

@CassandraRules A good economy, no wars, lower taxes, exposed to deep state for the world to see, and best of all, the opportunity to watch him clown reporters in front of a helicopter 3 times a week. I demand an apology, you can't treat Trump like that, he's been like a father to me.

Is this real?

Replying to @RobertMackey: Bannon led the applause, Flynn was second to clap. Both now pardoned and free to commit more crimes.

In January 2017, flanked by his top aides, President Trump made a big show out of signing an executive order that would, among other things, institute a five year ban on former aides lobbying.

Part of his "drain the swamp" pledge.

Tonight, Trump rescinded the executive order.

Bannon led the applause, Flynn was second to clap. Both now pardoned and free to commit more crimes.

Only Iranian to get a pardon....

Forget about draining the swamp...President Trump just filled it up.

He has revoked his own executive order ( #13770) which had the following provisions (among others).

The drain the swamp stuff was all smoke and mirrors anyway but here's Trump walking back his own EO...

To the people in the replies asking what this means...it means everything banned in the box below is now allowed

Like the ban on lobbying for 5 years after leaving WH...gone

What can Biden do? He doesn't need to do anything, he will have his own ethics rules. These were Trumps.

the uber saga never ends

on his way out of office, trump pardons Anthony Levandowski, who pleaded guilty for theft of trade secrets from google when he was a self driving car engineer there years ago

Mike has been dominating this story and so I had to come to his feed as soon as I saw the pardon on the list.

So if Trump is giving Bannon a pardon, I wonder how the other co-defendants in the We Build the Wall case will feel?

It's official...the only defendant in this case to receive a pardon from President Trump is Steve Bannon.

The other three defendants from the build a wall project are left on their own.

Paul Erickson, ex boyfriend of Maria Butina, has received a full pardon from President Trump.

It is almost 1 o’clock in the morning on the last day of Trump’s presidency and @maggieNYT is still reporting and breaking news.

She has performed a crucial public service these last 5 years, and I hope she gets to take a nice long vacation soon.

Official clemency list has been released.

Neither Julian Assange nor Edward Snowden have been granted clemency by President Trump.

No Trump family members on the list.

Tiger King is not on the list.

Giuliani is not on the list.

Ken Kurson gets a pardon too

Jared Kushner special

There are people like Mike Milken who were in the position to lobby Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Trump for pardons.

But there are so many figures tonight who know their only shot at a pardon is from Trump.

No other president would ever dream of granting them clemency.

A pardon for Bannon makes more likely a Senate conviction for Trump.

Bannon went after McConnell hard over the years....but....

President Trump is issuing a pardon to Steve Bannon who has been charged with defrauding Trump supporters.

I'm no expert but I think when it comes to fraud, Bannon would have exposure at the state level?

Fraud of this nature isn't just a federal crime.

A quick recap on Bannon since 2017 - trashed the president's son in the Michael Wolff book, was pushed out after a months-long battle w Kushner, Trump disparaged him, then he started backing Trump vociferously and publicly, got indicted on fraud charges, pardoned in 11th hour.

I’ve hesitated directly sharing this β€” outside of a couple RTs β€” because that’s how I’ve handled it when I’ve been on lists in the past.

But I just remembered that kids in elementary school would make fun of me for having a Time Magazine in my backpack
