The World Health Organization's COVAX facility is set to conduct a readiness inspection in the Philippines on January 18 to 29 to check the country's cold storage facilities for #COVID19 vaccines.
The COVAX Facility is important for PH and other LMICs (lower middle income countries). Galvez says if this pushes through this 20% Filipinos will be vaccinated for free. That’s 22 million Filipinos. #ANCHeadstart
Revealing the price of China’s Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine to be procured by the Philippines would have compromised the country’s deals with other vaccine manufacturers, vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said. | @CMRamosINQ
#ANCHeadstart Galvez explains he is bound by Confidentiality Disclosure Agreement on vaccine purchase. Vince Dizon explains “P650 price of Sinovac as revealed by Sec Roque is indicative, range. No payment has been made yet”
Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. insists that the #COVID19 vaccine from Sinovac is more affordable than some of its competitors, saying the commercial price of the China-made vaccine is $26 and the Philippines is getting it at a much lower price.
WATCH short portion of #ANCHeadstart today with Sec Galvez as he clarifies Bangkok Post report on vaccine prices.
“Nagkamali ang dyaryo. It’s wrong”
Front page of Bangkok Post newspaper January 16, 2021.
Sinovac US$5 per dose vs Indonesia at US $ 17 vs Philippines of US $ 36
Why is Sinovac cheaper in Indonesia and Thailand ?
Sec Carlito Galvez sets record straight, “Yung Bangkok Post nagkamali ang dyaryo”
Galvez says prices are wrong. $36 is commercial rate of Sinopharm. PH not getting Sinopharm.
PH purchase offer for Sinovac started at $7. Indicative price is at P650, around $13 #ANCHeadstart
Galvez on allegations of corruption w vaccines:
“We value honor more than our lives. Rest assured our dealings are fair & square. Marami pong mababait at honest sa govt service po natin. Wag po natin isipin na pag nasa govt corrupt agad. I am honest, we are honest” #ANCHeadstart

COVAX will vaccinate 20% of population, thats 22M Filipinos for FREE #ANCHeadstart
1. Galvez says Bangkok Post figures are wrong. $38 is commercial price of Sinopharm. $26 Sinovac. PH did not get Sinopharm.
2. US at $5 is improbable. COVAX floor price is at $7.
3. PH price of Sinovac is close to Indonesia & India. At P650 thats $13
Vaccine Czar Carlito Galvez and Testing Czar Vince Dizon set the record straight on the varying prices of vaccines, arrival & rollout.
An international newspaper reports Sinovac at $5 in US, $17 in Indonesia & $36 in PH. Is this accurate?
#ANCHesdstart 8-9am today @ANCALERTS
No vaccines have been authorized for general use in the PH, but here's a booming bootleg trade for them.
This past two weeks, we found Filipino workers left out of POGO immunization drives, plans for customs to relabel shipments as supplements, and more:
