"Antony Blinken...Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Tuesday that he agreed that “forcing men, women and children into concentration camps” constituted genocide." Bravo Mr. Blinken and a great sign of seriousness re CCP from incoming Biden team.

A background paper from @CFR_org on the importance of naming genocide when it occurs as it is occurring in China:

"China has waged a propaganda campaign to push its narrative that coronavirus existed abroad before being brought into Wuhan, even blaming an initial infection in a current outbreak on imported virus strain that had supposedly contaminated a package of steamed buns" @Telegraph

This AM: @SecPompeo @WSJ column declaring "People’s Republic of China, under the direction and control of the Chinese Communist Party, has committed genocide and crimes against humanity against the predominantly Muslim Uighurs..."and other ethnic groups.

"Mr. Biden will stop construction of the wall along the border with Mexico, one of Mr. Trump’s signature policies, deeming it a waste of money, though the portion that has been completed will remain standing." Unlike oil pipeline, this is surely w/i new president's authority.

Quoted @hughhewitt

"President-elect Biden on his first day in office will take a range of executive actions, including implementing a national mask mandate on federal property, revoking a permit for the Keystone XL oil pipeline and reversing a travel ban from several largely Muslim" nations. @WSJ

The Keystone XL pipeline permit revocation will lead to interesting litigation on a variety of issues. It will also cost many people their jobs. Watch that space. The government may not act on ideological whims when people have relied on permits issued by the government.

Opinion | Joe Biden is my president - The Washington Post

This used to go without saying, but Marc is doing the right thing by saying it. Of course President Biden is our president as of noon tomorrow. There will be disagreements and debates, but he’s head of government and head of state. Pray for the president and his family and team.

Washington @PostOpinions argues it's a good idea to "de-alert" our nuclear forces.

That's a great way to tempt bad nuclear powers to do bad things.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I dissent in today's Post.
