Seth Godin was born on the 10th July 1960 and he is an American Author of Business Books and one of the most popular speaker with appearances at Google, TED and a number of charities. Many times his blog was chosen as the most popular Blog on the world.

He has written 11 bestseller Books. Godin’s book “Free Prize Inside” was a Forbes Business Book of the Year in 2004. In its first two years of release alone, “Purple Cow” sold over 150,000 copies and more than 23 printings. “The Dip” was a “Business Week” and “New York Times” bestseller.

Seth is really one of the best online marketer in the world.

TechCult.com has created a list of the top 100 Web Celebrities and rated Seth on the 5th place.

What he has done?

1995 - Seth launched Yoyodyne, the first direct-marketing site on the web
2004 - Godin developed the idea for ChangeThis, a website aimed at spreading ideas through PDF files.
2006 - Godin launched Squidoo, a community website allowing users to create pages (called “lenses”) for subjects of interest.

His website Squidoo donates 5% of the profits to charity, and 50% to the lensmasters. Godin and Squidoo have been profiled on CNN and the Washington Post. The site was given top prize in SXSW’s community/wiki category. As of July 2008, Squidoo is one of the 500 most visited sites in the world.

Seth is my hero!

He is the new David Ogilvy, or even better! “Free Prize Inside” is freaking one of the best books I ever read! His videos are excellent, and should be read by anyone that sells anything.

I just sent one of his recent TED videos to my colleagues, I wonder if they even heard of his name before, or if they will be smart enough to watch it.

I have heard about Squidoo but it’s only now that I knew that Seth Godin is the owner.
